The A Level, a shorter term used to denote Advanced Level, is a General Certificate of Education qualification in the United Kingdom. This course is offered by the University of Cambridge and the examinations are conducted by Cambridge International Examinations (CIE). It is an advanced degree which prepares students for higher education and employment anywhere in the world.

In Nepal, the A Level is a two-year programme that offers AS (Advanced Subsidiary), which covers the first half of the course, and A2 ( Advanced) Level papers, which covers the latter half of the course, to students who have completed their secondary level education (SLC or its equivalent). A student undergoing a full A Level qualification can appear either for two separate examinations during the two years of preparation or sit for a final examination at the end of the two years. The examinations are conducted world-wide twice a year, during May/June and October/November.

A Level is equivalent to the 10+2 programme administered by Higher Secondary Education Board, Nepal. After completion of this course a student will be eligible to apply for undergraduate studies worldwide.
